Abah passed away due to chronic liver cirrhosis. He suffered badly from the disease for 3months. He ate only soft food like porridge, and drink water. Until one moment where he only allowed to drink plain water for 3 sips or he will become bloated after that. Hospital became his second home, despite we needed to take turn to speak to him because friends and relatives kept on visiting him at hospital. When seeing abah like this, I wished Amirul should become a doctor someday. Thus, he could be our personal medical advisor cum personal doctor to us.
Working as a doctor is a dream job for most of the children. It would be more proud to a parent if their children become a doctor. A bonus if there is one of family member become a doctor. In Mr Hubby’s family, his 4th brother (Jabbar) is a doctor. He just graduated last February and currently working as trainee doctor in a hospital.
Yes, a bonus for our family. Jabbar is as helpful as our personal medical consultant. He also, as always, likes to share his medical knowledge with us. Not only we’re feeded with paediatric knowledge, whenever we are sick, he would give a free medical consultation to us. I did asked Jabbar his childhood ambition. Doctor was not in his ambition list during his childhood. However, with the encouragement, doa and motivation from his parent to make one of their children become a doctor, there he is now; A doctor.
Amirul, Doctor is a noble work. Mummy can’t list down doctor job scope, somehow he work to save lives, treat the sick people, provides preventive care and health educations. Some do claim that they were underpaid, but Amirul the work is not solely the money matters, it’s about the responsibility, trust, loves, satisfaction when you see your patient walkout from ward with smiley face. Doctor work regardless time or holidays. When Abah in critical conditions, we took him home and asked his friends ( a doctor and nurse) to monitor him. They came to treat Abah not as patient and doctor but more on friendship relationship. That is how noble the doctor profession is.
