Ever since Amirul intensively in his speech therapy class, I always wander around to find any activities to stimulate Amirul speech besides enhance Amirul’s new vocabulary. I found this toddler activities at home and most of the suggestion activities available at home
Construction Toys – Duplo, Lego, Junior Meccano are wonderful toys for 3 years olds.
This lego set are bought at RM 5 from Pasar Tani Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam. Although this Lego set is 2nd hand and not enough pieces, we still managed to create robot, aeroplane etc . The important thing is being creative with limited sources. Mr Hubby is always the creative ones and he managed to build something that catch Amirul’s attention.

Large jigsaws – Floor puzzles with large pieces are great for fine and gross motor control especially if they have to move around the puzzle and cross the midline to make pieces fit.
You can buy this big puzzle at Toys r us at RM49.90. We bought animals set for Amirul. Besides move around to fit the puzzle, we also teaches him to identify animals, colours, animal’s sound. Amirul will give smiley face everytime completed the puzzle.

Memory games – These help your child not only develop their memory skills but also to visualize items in an abstract way.
We bought few set of flash card but my favorite are from Baby Eistein. This flash card made from hard paper in large size card. Each card features tips that provide examples of things you can say, ask or do with your child as you use the cards. You can get this flash card from MPH.
Building bricks – These are used for building towers, making bridges for trains and car sets, for houses for Lego people and so much more.
This building block made from wood are safe for toddler and baby as well. This colorful block with mixed shapes allow Amirul to be creative. The block also sturdy and not easy to broke and durable for toddlers
Cars and trucks – Girls as well as boys needs cars and trucks to play with.

Train sets – A great investment. Buy one that you can extend as your child grows. Take a look at the right hand margin for some recommendations.
I bought this train set from Ikea. This train set made from wood and suitable to develops fine motor skills and logical thinking.
