Packing List for Travelling with Kids – Minimal and Optimal

During our 4D 3N Singapore Trip last year. One big expendable luggage bag, one bagpack and 1 handbag

Hari Raya is just around the corner. I love packing clothes and stuffs for travelling but, light packing for 4 of us is almost impossible. Essential items like milk, milk’s bottle, diapers, clothes,munchies [biscuits, bread, vitagen etc] almost cater for 1 bag, not mentioning our essential as well

Although it local travelling or just going back to hometown, i just hate if i miss our kids essential items and to me, everything is very important and a must have in the luggage bag. However, here a few tips that i just found out how to minimize and optimize your items for travelling especially with kids and long hours driving . This is for 1 weeks packing list for drive travelling with kids

[1] Hand Carry/ Portable/Light bag for emergency
Provide a small bag to put all necessities during emergencies, for example,
* 2 spare clothes if your child is vomiting
* Diaper at least  4pcs,
* Formula milk in the milk dispenser  & milk bottle,
* Hot and cold water,
* Munchies [biscuits, bread, vitagen, chocolate]
* Travel pack toiletries
* Towels & handkerchief
* Medicine, Minyak angin cap kapak
* Wet cloth wipes
* Gadget/ Toys
* Plastic Bag – in case your kids want to puke, just grab one from you bag. Also may use it as wetbag to put soil diapers

[2] Luggage Bag Packing List
Toiletries & Personal Care [packed together, in a ziplock bag]
* Tooth paste, toothbrushes,
* Nail clippers,
* Children’s medicine/ Your medical card
* Birth control, vitamins,
* Insect repellant[mopiko]
* Deodorant
* Moisturizer Cream / Lotion

Technology Stuff to Bring / Toys
This is very important as to entertain the kids and to ensure they full occupied during the long hours trip. Kids happy, parent less worries and headache

Clothes
Packing clothes is most challenging part when you traveling with kids. Some expert recommends “traveling light “and that’s great advice. However, I prefer to bring along enough clothes that we never need to waste time to do shopping for new clothes. But the choice is yours!

Clothes for Kids
*
Plenty of shirt
* Fews jeans / denim
* Sleepwear
* Underwear
* Socks

Clothes for Grownups
*
3 shirt and rotate.
* 2 jeans / denim – wrinkles free
* 2 Sleepwear
* Sweater & Sock

Tips :
[1] Bags will hold more if the clothes are rolled rather than folded . Rolled your clothes
[2] Avoid white/ clear color shirt, easy to get dirty and need of changing
[3] Just soak your shirt after use and hang it. In the next morning you may wear it again

Desa Water Park trip worth RM94.50

Entrance Fee : RM 24 (Adult) / RM17 (Child)
Total Paid : RM65

Foods : RM 14.50 (3 Nasik Lemak + 2 Fishballs)

Tube Rental : RM 15

[1] The theme park not as big as Sunway Lagoon but it worth for money that you paid for. At least you can spend up to 5-6 hours there

[2] The foods :  Expensive, not variety, tasteless

[3] The theme park is located next to Indah Water sewage plant – smelly

[4] The theme park tile flooring is quite harmful. I found needle and the gap between mosaic quite big. Amirul scratched his elbow

Photo taken under water using Olympus

[5] Attractions :

Shock Wave – Mr Hubby enjoy this the most. He can lay on the float sambil silang kaki menikmati shockwave. Geram je tengok tau.

Where is Mr Hubby???

  • Super Tube – Ride and scream and feel the excitement completely by myself. Mr Hubby took care of Amirul & Widad
  • Suft Shark – Similar to  Super Tube but kid version. Main ngn Amirul and Widad. Nice
  • Action River – Buat satu round with single tube. Ok la. But i prefer the one at Sunway Lagoon. Beside the river there were trees, so that rase damai jer, windy, shady,
  • Water Factory – Amirul and Widad play area

Photos :

Mummy complete with goggle,Adik complete with life jacket and noodle. Safety 1st. :D

Abang main pistol air.

Widad – tak takut air, boleh floating skit2,

Universal Studios Singapore; Family Gateway [ Madagascar ]

Universal Studios Singapore is a recommended place to visit with your family if you in Singapore. Remember the 2010 AirAsia 1 Million Free seat Promo? I managed to buy the  ticket and just went there last few week.

Journey to Universal Studios Singapore

North-East line MRT rail system - Little India Station – Harbour Front Station

Sentosa Express – WaterFront Station
Go to the 3rd level (Lobby L) of VivoCity shopping mall to transfer to Sentosa Express to enter the resort.

Its take us almost 1 hour to reached USS using MRT. We are among the earliest to reached there.  Unfortunately, its rainy since the morning we left the hotel. However,it does not stop us from getting excited and I can feel the adrenaline rushing up. I was so excited to ride the roller coaster.

Since we had booked the ticket through online, so no need to queue and just printed the confirmation letter and bring along the ticket. Don’t forget to print the confirmation letter because its has bar code for them to scan and check in their system. Those ticket are multiple entry for day. So bleh kuar masuk then kuar masuk lagi.

We started our exploration with Madagascar – Far Far Way – The Lost World – Ancient Egypt – Sci -Fi CIty -New York & Hollyword

Madagascar

[1] Tugu Madagascar waiting for you to snap the photo. Someone is there to help you snap your the photo using your personnel camera.  Widad is sleeping, only 3 of us with Amirul crying refuse to take the photo

[2] Rides available @ Madagascar zone – Madagascar: A Crate Adventure; boat ride,

[3] Madagascar : A Crate Adventure is a boat ride suitable for kids and adults. The river ride is entertaining and Amirul amuse with the splash of water, the sound of river and the sound of Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria talking . No photo taken here, rase sgt rugi plak, to ulangtayang ride ni, Amirul dah xmo

[4] King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round – Look at Widad how brave she is. Naik ride sorang2, Daddy teman kt sebelah jer. Amirul??? erhmm Mummy kena teman.

[5] Street Entertainment – Tak sempat nak tengok

Elephant Show @ Singapore Zoo

The elephants are well trained and the show is very entertaining

[1] How to get to Singapore Zoo using public transport
Hotel 81 Dickson – Little India MRT Station – Ang Mo Kio Station – Take bus no 138 from bus interchange direct to Singapore Zoo

[2] We took 2-1 hopper package (Singapore Zoo – Jurong Bird Park).  Advisable to go early, so that you able to watch few animals show and take hopper bus to Jurong Bird Park. We reached there almost 11am, so that, we are having quite tight schedule to explore the zoo and catch the hopper bus that available only once a day

[3] The Zoo is clean. I feel in the real animals habitat. The trees, the sound of the river, chirping bird, the gap between animals and visitors is so near. Some of the animals you may touch them, no cages and everything is green

[4] There are trams facility available that takes you all around the zoo. However, the zoo is not so big that you able to explore within 4hours with 1 animals show.

[5] We managed to watch Elephants At Work & Show Play – watch above video

The animals

Airlines : AirAsia [RM470 ; 3 Guests + 1 infant - Bought during AirAsia 1million Free Seat Promo]
NOTE : With AirAsia, Everyone Can Fly. and the delay is confirm. huhuhu. My flight ETA is 1140hrs, however, my departure time is 1300hrs, delay due to technical problem. 4hours in the airport with 2 active kids is not easy to handle. Both of us need octopus hand to ensure Amirul & Widad not lose from our view

RM100 for my Infant/return ticket

Accomodation : Hotel 81 Dickson [ USD 216.57/RM675.11- Bought online through Agoda.com]
NOTE : This hotel is located at Little India area. Appropriate to 2 star rating, this budget hotel is Clean, Cheap & Comfortable. The room is not spacious; sufficient space for our big luggage bag and stroller with small space for solat. I don’t mind staying in this hotel since we spend most of the time outside the room. Hotel only place for us to sleep after tiring day of sightseeing/shopping. However, the hotel location is strategic which accessible by two MRT stations [ Bugis MRT & Little India MRT ].

Balik Raya di Kelantan

2 unfortunate and unexpected things happened before we went back to my hometown to celebrate Hari Raya. [1] Mr Hubby’s car was stolen 2 weeks before raya. [2] Father-in-law’s car was broke down on the day we supposed to go back.

[1] Mr Hubby’s car was stolen 2 weeks before raya. Leaving Kelisa Biru yg banyak berjasa since 2005. Kelisa Biru that have a lot of sentimental value to me. :D
[2] On the Sunday morning after sahur around 7am, Abah (Father-in-law) check Kia Spectra to ensure that his car is ready and safe to travel back and forth to Kelantan, unfortunately broke down just 300m form the house. 300m distance that save us from mishap in the middle of KL-KB trip. Alhamdulillah Mr Hubby thought of postponing the journey was right after seen the blinking signal. Then, Jln Tar and Sogo is where I heading to, healing my broken heart. huhuh
[3] Thanks to Mama for letting us lend her car and thanks to Kia Rio for good job. We reached Kelantan and back to KL again in safe and sound condition

Sweep, vacuum and do the laundry before leave the house

cuci..cuci..cuci

The journey was smooth and the traffic is moving even though there were cars queuing on the road. Widad and Amirul well behave in car for 1st half and started shouting and quarreling for 2nd half.

Good boy and girl in the car

We were greeted with homemade and the best mama Nasi Kerabu for iftar. Makan sampai perut sendat and left no space for dessert.

Menu for raya are Nasi Dagang with gulai ayam kampung and itik, roti jala, satay and kuah kacang together with nasi himpit. Again makan sampai perut penuh. Its for future energy before start visiting the relatives.

Start with family photo with Amirul not in the mood

Amirul nampak mata jer

In the making

Bersalaman dan giving duit raya to nieces and nephew

Visiting pusara Abah

 This is my 1st time visiting pusara Abah after the day he passed away

Bacaan yasin for arwah Abah semoga Abah ditempatkan di kalangan orang yang beriman. Amin

Visiting Relatives

Day 2 – Visiting relatives on Abah side

Day 3 – Visiting relatives on Ma side

Day 4 – Visiting Friends

Full of visiting the immediate family on both Abah & Ma side. We started from 10am to 10pm, 12 hours on the road and tummy full with variety of foods. Not much photo, I’m buzy with Widad and Amirul. Widad yang tersangat ligat and lasak and tak leh dok diam, while Amirul yang sangat pemalu nak berkepit ngn Mummy ajer.

A must Raya menu everyhouse that I visited : tapai beras. Tapai beras sedap dimakan bler time sejuk2. Besides of that, ada nasi dagang,nasi himpit kuah kacang, laksam pun ada, nasi bukhari,

Playing kite at Pantai Cahaya Bulan, Kelantan – My Experience

Me bersiaran dari Kelantan Darul Naim from Friday to Tuesday. Tanah tumpahnya darahku. Kelantan is well-known for its foods, fishing villages, palm-fringed beaches and verdant paddy fields. Me are not going to promote all those beatifull places and delicious food famous in Kelanatan, but i would like to share my experince playing kite at Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB) or some people known it as Pantai Chinta Berahi.

Pantai Cahay Bulan is just 20 minutes from my house and since its still in musim tengkujuh, i can see the mud and flood aftermath effect everywhere along to PCB. Actually, my house situated near to the river and only 5km away from Sg Kelantan. Its an annual event for us to face with flood thingy. Its a pesta air for us. (masa kecik2 syok la main air, tolak selut, as time passing by, and me dah grown up, pesta air is something that me and family want to avoid). To read more about Pantai Cahya Bulan, do click here

Its so much different bler main kite di bangi compare to PCB ni, bangi angin dier bersepoi-sepoi bahasa, kat PCB ni angin dier kencang giler. Kat bangi bler nak naik kan layang2 ni, alahai kena berlari2 anak gitu, baru la layang2 naik ngn jayanya, kt PCB ni, tak payah susah2 nk berlari2 bagai, pegang-lepaskan layang2, trus jer naik. mmg best sgt. Tapi since layang2 yg me brought along ni, yg murah and biasa aje, mmg ssh sgt nk control. Enjoy my photos.

5th Parenthood Expo @ Mid Valley

21- 23 Aug 2009

Parenthood Expo is an yearly event meant for parent, parent-to-be and could be anybody. Last year i went with Mr Hubby & Amirul,however this year, for Amirul’s sake, i did not bring him along as H1N1 is widely spread now. This also could be my date with Mr Hubby.. huhu

5th Parenthood Expo 2009 – open stage

Many companies selling baby items participate in this event like; My Dear, Sweet Cheery, Diaper companies (Huggies, Sealer, EQ), Today Publishing, Spa Boutiques, NESH etc and not forgetting web store like; Fobulous Mom, Tiny Tapir, The LilCaliph and many more to mentions. Comparing to last year, not many samples were given by participants (due to slow-down economy) and well as not many visitor visiting this expo. Maybe everybody taking precaution step; not bringing children which they very susceptible to infection disease. Parents came without children like me. Beside selling activities, competitions, talks & seminars, products shows also been organized.

I just bought GroBaby Cloth Diaper from TinyTapir (RM95), Rumparooz Insert from Tiny Tapir (RM30), Children toothpaste (RM3) & Liquid cleanser from Pureen(RM16), Mami&Baby + Parenthood Mags from Today Publishing (RM20 for 6pcs) – free goodies bag and Teat from NUK (RM27- 4pcs)

My caught of the day

Here I am

Here i am.. Malaysia tercinta.. huhuh.. I just came back from Bandung. A tired holiday ever but still manage to update at 0315am.. Zzzzzz

Amirul @ Zoo Negara

Last monday, we went to Zoo Negara.. This is my 3nd time there and 1st time to Amirul as well to Acu Mimi.. 1st time when i was 10 year old, 2nd time when i was 22 year old and this is the 3rd time.. wahhh. However, evrytime i went to the Zoo, there must be changes. Last time, bleh naik gajah and now no more. Now everything had to be paid. Entrance fee pn dh increase from rm10 tp rm15 for adult. Children rm 6. For zoo information pamplate they charged rm2. Izzit bcoz recession or upgraded job had been carried out. OK we look and see.

KakLong,Alif (inside stroller),Kakak,Abah,AcuMimi,Me,Ma,Amirul,Angah

Its only 4 hours visit. We reached there around 10 am and go back around 2pm.. Its bcoz abah not feeling well.. He had heavy cough and felt uncomfortable. We had seen multi-animal show.. This is our 1st time, so the excitement was different. There were parrot and sealion shows. Excitement can be seen through Amirul face.. huhu.. Amirul jgn jd jakun ok.. The parrot show were interesting cause they were teached to pick money from the audience at the instruction of its trainer. The money will goes to their donation fund. Berhibur sambil menderma.. Bagus2

waiting the show to start. Acu behave

sealion show

Then we had a nice and enjoyable cruise using new tram which also need to be paid. Adult rm 3, children rm2.Last time, free and the train also old type one.. gerabak panjang so amik maser skit tuk pusing2 the whole zoo.. Since tram pn dh pendek, so within 15mins dh siap satu zoo.. mmg xpuas pn.. tp xper at least we had explore the whole zoo.. Our train most alike to kindergarten train, sebab my niece+ nephew+ Acu Mimi and Amirul too excited.. ” Mama tgk ader lion la, Achik ader giraffe la.. Achik tgk hippo la ..ader ini la..ader itue la.. adoii bikin penin la..”

Posing after naik tram

After cruise the whole zoo, we rest and walk for a while. Unfortunately, its rain, so we had to go back.. Eventho they still want to look around, tp considered to abah condition everybody decide to go back..

Everyone enjoyed the trip..

Our photo before went back.. Hope will have another family day out.. Cheers
