Tarawih Is Another Daddy-and-Son Bonding Relationship Activity

1. I remember the first time I went to mosque for Tarawih pray, I brought along my mini human. Apparently, he had no idea that I wanted to go mosque. He thought that I must went out to go to Tesco or something.

2. Inside the mosque, he was really confused for the first time. He was constantly looking up at me (because he was too short to look down at me), wearing a weird face. After a while, he slowly followed takbiratul ikhram, rukuk, sujud and tahiyyat akhir.

3. As soon as we reached home after performing Tarawih pray, I asked him whether he wanted to follow me or not for the following night? He frowned and shaking his head, as if he was full of regret and didn’t see it coming. Well, my heart seemed to have a little crack inside, almost near to heartbroken. I, for some reason, wanted him to go with me whenever I performed my prayer at mosque.

4. Why I would have him to go? I don’t know. May be it’s good to have a company, especially mini human. Surprisingly, he wanted to follow me. He seemed so excited to go to the mosque. So it was for the third, and the fourth day.

5. In relation with parenthood, I think Tarawih is another daddy-and-son bonding relationship activity.

6. Why? Because [1] It gives value-add for both father and son relationship plus 27 credit for prayer in congregation. [2] I strongly believe that an insivible attachment between father and son will be developed by doing this activity, and [3] not only you have glued daddy-and-son things, you also fulfill the calling of fardhu kifayah.

7. If you find you have no time to play around or spend some miraculous time with your son, performing Maghrib prayer or Subuh prayer at a mosque, why not bring along your son. Perhaps you could, indirectly, teach him about the basic of the five pillars of Islam.

8. Now, it is the time to give him early exposure about Islamic spiritual practice.

9. For another benefit, your son will fall in love with the mosque, and make him a better person. Plus, he will learn from what you sacredly did.

10. When he becomes a father, I hope he will do the same like I did.
